is suffering<BR>some instability due to a defective hardware component,<BR>which 

has not yet being identified precisely.<BR>This problem can cause some component 

of $CINECA_SCRATCH<BR>to go off line, so you can see, time-to-time, an I/O 

error.<BR>Note that stored files are only temporary unavailable,<BR>they are not 

lost, unless they are being written while the<BR>problem occurs. <BR>Next week 

hardware experts will be in CINECA to analyse <BR>the problem and hopefully 

solve it.<BR>Unfortunately it is not possible to fix it before Easter
