Dear Users,

we are pleased to inform you that CINECA's new supercomputer, Leonardo, will
enter the pre-production phase on Monday, May 29. Leonardo will replace the
near-to-dismission M100 cluster as the new CINECA accelerated platform.

All projects selected to be migrated during this pre-production phase, and
the new projects, will be available on Leonardo in the following weeks.

IMPORTANT: we have increased the cluster's security by introducing a
two-factor authentication (2FA) method to access Leonardo. Access to the
cluster will be allowed ONLY after authenticating via 2FA and downloading a
temporary ssh certificate. Please, refer to the online documentation for
detailed instructions:

https://wiki.u-gov.it/confluence/display/SCAIUS/How+to+connect+via+2FA

We warmly encourage you to go through the registration and activation of the
2FA service as soon as possible. You can then try accessing M100 by this
authentication to exploit that you will be ready to access Leonardo next
week. If you use ssh keys to log in to M100, please store them elsewhere to
exploit the authentication via ssh certificates and 2FA.

The $HOME, $CINECA_SCRATCH storage areas are available for users. The $WORK
storage areas are still not available. The accounting of the consumed budget
will not be active as well during pre-production.

Leonardo production environment relies on job submission to the SLURM
scheduler (as all the other CINECA clusters).

Best regards,
