Pitagora: new partition ptgr_all_serial (https://www.hpc.cineca.it/senza-categoria/pitagora-new-partition-ptgr_all_serial/)
21 April 2026
Dear Pitagora Users,
we are glad to announce the definition of the new ptgr_all_serial partition on Pitagora.
This partition is dedicated to pre/post-processing and install activities requiring connection to the external network and/or exceeding the 10 cpu-minutes limit of the login nodes.
It is defined on one socket of two "login-dcgp" nodes, login03 and login05 (no GPUs), while the other socket on both nodes remains for standard login activities. It is budget free, so you will not consume core-hours from a Project Account budget, and it is set as default partition.
The following limits have been applied:
Maximum 4 cores and 12046 MB of memory per job/user
Maximum 40 GB of tmpfs per node
Maximum 4 hours of walltime
Maximum 10 pending jobs and 4 running jobs per User
Best regards,
HPC User Support @ CINECA
