CLX non accessibile 1-20 Agosto

Per  la realizzazione di un progetto speciale ENI ha richiesto a CINECA
 la disponibilità dedicata dell'intero sistema CLX per un periodo di 20
giorni.

Per questa ragione CLX non sara' accessibile dall'1 al 20 agosto, in
concomitanza con il periodo di minor richiesta da parte della produzione
accademica, nell'ottica di arrecare il minor disagio possibile.

Tutti i job running ed accodati verranno cancellati nella mattinata
dell'1 Agosto, dopo le 9:00, ed il login disabilitato.

Aprofitteremo del fermo della produzione di CLX per trasferire i dati
che avete sulle HOME su $CINECA_HOME, onde renderli accessibili da tutti
i sistemi di calcolo.

I dati verranno trasferiti in una sottodirectory che creeremo sotto
$CINECA_HOME (vi diremo dove trovare i dati una volta che ve li abbiamo
trasferiti).

Siccome non sara' consentito di fare nemmeno login su CLX, renderemo
accessibili i dati di /scratch di clx dal nodo di login di SP5, dalla
directory /clx/scratch.

Quando il sistema ritornerà alla produzione normale,   le vostre HOME di
CLX saranno vuote, visto che i vostri dati sono stati trasferiti in una
sottodirectory di $CINECA_HOME, che a quel punto sara' accessibile anche
in scrittura da parte di CLX.

Ci scusiamo per gli inevitabili disagi  che creeremo agli Utenti. Siamo
fin da ora a disposizione degli utenti che hanno scadenze urgenti  e
necessitano di lavorare sul sistema CLX nel mese di agosto, per
assisterli nel trasferimento della produzione sugli altri sistemi HPC
del CINECA (SP5 o XD1).

In order to run a special project ENI requested  to use the whole CLX
system in a dedicated way for a period of 20 days.
For this reason, the CLX system will not be accessible from August 1 to
20.  Usually, in this period of the year, the academic users do not
access heavely to the system, so we hope to reduce at the minimum the
trouble to the users.

On August 1st, after 9:00 a.m., all the jobs  running  or queued on CLX
will be deleted and, at that time, the login will be disabled.

We will  take this opportunity  to transfer all the data you have in the
HOME directly to  $CINECA_HOME, in order to make them accessible from
all the CINECA computing platforms.

All the data will be moved in a  sub-directory of $CINECA_HOME (we will
send you a message with alll the information to find again your data
once we complete the trnsfer).

As you can not  login on CLX, you will be enabled to access all your
data  in CLX  /scratch,  from the SP5 login node, from the directory
/clx/scratch.

When the CLX system will be available again for the normal production,
your HOME in CLX will be empty. In fact, your data have been moved to a
$CINECA_HOME sub-diectory, that at that time will be accessible from
CLX also  in  write mode.

We apologise for the unavoidable trouble we will cause to the Users.
Since now we are at disposal of the Users with urgent deadlines, and
were planning to use the CLX system in August, to assist them in moving
the production run in the other HPC Systems available in CINECA (SP5 or
XD1).
