UPGRADE SP4 -> SP5

Attenzione, stiamo per aggiornare SP4. SP5 avra' fisicamente la stessa
rete di connessione (HPS Federation), ma i nodi saranno diversi: SP5
sara' composto da 64 nodi SMP, da 8 processori ciascuno. I processori
saranno IBM Power5 a 1.9 GHz.

PER QUESTA RAGIONE SP4 VERRA' SPENTO IL 30 MAGGIO P.V. ALLE 9:00 E
RIACCESO IL GIORNO DOPO, MA CON 320 PROCESSORI DISPONIBILI INVECE DI 512

Questo perche' SP5 prendera' fisicamente il posto di 6 frame di SP4. SP4
"ridotto" sara' poi disponibile fino a sabato 11 giugno (data da
confermare).

DAL 13 GIUGNO SP4 NON SARA' PIU' DISPONIBILE.

Dal 20 giugno dovra' essere disponibile SP5, con procedure di utilizzo
simili a quelle di SP4, che verranno comunicate a questa lista.

Ci scusiamo per il disagio arrecato.

Attention: we are upgrading SP4. SP5 will have physically the same
interconnect (Federation HPS), but the nodes will be different: SP5 will
be made of 64 SMP nodes of 8 processors each. The processors will be IBM
Power5 at 1.9 GHz.

FOR THIS REASON SP4 WILL BE SHUT DOWN NEXT MAY 30TH, AT 9:00 AND
AVAILABLE AGAIN THE DAY AFTER, BUT WITH 320 AVAILABLE PROCESSORS INSTEAD
OF 512

This because SP5 will be installed in place of 6 frames of SP4.

"reduced" SP4 will be available up to Saturday June 11th (date to be
confirmed).

FROM JUNE 13th, SP4 WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ANYMORE.

 From june 20th, SP5 will be available, with usage procedure similar to
those of SP4, that will be communicated to this list.
