Dear users,
                  an update on $CINECA_SCRATCH and some clarifications
on the new $CINECA_DATA:

-) currently, $CINECA_SCRATCH 's behaviour appears to be much more stable,
  thus the decision of opening the production.
  The situation is not to be considered definitely stable, due to
  hardware issues which have been temporarily fixed but need IBM to replace
  some components in order to be considered definitely ok.

-) the newly available $CINECA_DATA is to be considered as the 
"replacement"
  for both the old $CINECA_DATA and $CINECA_HOME.
  This meaning, it is NOT possible to submit jobs from the new 
$CINECA_DATA!
  In other words, compute nodes cannot perform any I/O on $CINECA_DATA.
